Dale Brown--Man In The Glass Movie

Last week while traveling on a recruiting trip I had the opportunity to watch "Man In The Glass--The Dale Brown Story".  Not only enjoyed learning more about Coach Brown but grabbed several great thoughts and ideas noted below:

  1. If the door for opportunity doesn't open, then knock it down.
  2. Try to be a person that tries to do good.
  3. Emotionally invest yourself in others.
  4. Seek opportunities to make things better for others.
  5. Greatest discovery we go on is the discovery of ourselves.
  6. If we spend too much time polishing our image, we'll tarnish our character.
  7. Create a challenge of your own.

Concentration Is Imperative For Sucess

I've been enjoying Coach Dale Brown's new book, "Getting Over The Four Hurdles of Life".  The following advice is relative to each of us and especially as we move into the last few weeks of the regular season:

"Stay away from all distractions.
Because concentration is imperative for ultimate success."

Dale Brown's 6 Musts Of Coaching

1. You must have the ability to respond to failure
2. Have confidence in your own technical ability--the game is really simplistic. It's not splitting the atom.
3. Keep it simple with constant repetition
4. Must have discipline--it's the coach's fault if there's no discipline.
5. Must be a problem solver
6. Expect and learn to accept criticism
